Well this weeks shoot is one for the books. I always say I am so honored to be a Atlanta wedding photographer and this week’s engagement shoot is a fine example of that. It started off with a little rough start but everything came together perfectly!
We had to reschedule the shoot from the weekend before because of rain. The bride and groom were very understanding and patient. We were supposed to start at Piedmont Park but when I get there it started to rain. So we decided to start at their apartment on Peachtree Street. The couple changed clothes into something a little more sophisticated. As you know I like shooting early in the morning so when we were walking to the Fox Theater to get started I saw one of my photography students. She was on a run with some friends and said “ You really do shoot in the morning and capture the blue hour!”.
We started on with some fun shoots on Peachtree Street by the Fox Theater. They wanted capture the feel of the neighborhood where they live. So we started at the corner of Ponce de Leon and Peachtree Street where three of the coolest historic buildings in Atlanta are. We captured a couple of photos in front of the Fox Theater and then we captured at few shoots of them walking down the side walks on Peachtree Street. They were real sports through the whole thing and we had a great time.
We then went to the entrance to the Ponce Condominium a historic building right at the corner of Ponce and Peachtree Street. The brides mother came along and we did some fun back lighting effects with a second flash. It gave a very rainy dreamy vibe to the photos you see above.
When then went to the Georgian Terrace a historic hotel that has been used in several movies that are being made her in Atlanta now. It is a great place to host a wedding or reception. The staff there are real pros and know exactly how to treat people right!
There are several great places for photography at the Georgian Terrace. There is the ballroom where you take a step back in Atlanta history. Then there is the atrium and main entrance to the hotel that you see below. It is a grand area with lots of natural light. It is also where the modern and historical architecture meet.
Thank you so much for visiting my blog. I hope you keep coming back and find out what the Atlanta wedding photographers at AtlantaArtisticWeddings are up to! Please feel free to drop me a line I would love to hear from you!
Thanks again!
David
