This weeks wedding is Nic and Stephanie. They are a great couple. The wedding was was put together relatively quickly but with the help of family and friends it all came together beautifully. From the getting ready locations to the sparkler exit!
The wedding day started at the groom’s family home where he got dressed and was supported by his family who made sure he was on time and looking good for the big day. His best man (his brother) got ready there also. His brother was looking sharp with a black suit that matched the groom. The grand father was their also. So there were 3 generations of men getting ready at the family home.
The bride got ready at a family friends house. Sarah was in charge of the photography there. I can’t say enough nice things about Sarah. She makes the bride and the women feel comfortable during their getting ready photos.
The groom meet the bride at the family friends house. There they did the first look on the stairs. The groom was amazed at the wedding dress and the bride. There was joy and love in the air! We did the family photos there and some of the portraits and headed to the Piedmont room were the wedding was being held.
The Piedmont room is a wonderful venue at the south end of Piedmont Park. . Originally built in 1905, the building was first used as horse stables and served as the clubhouse to the golf course that once resided within the park. Stone Mountain granite walls, original ivy-covered windows, and traditional wooden planked walls have been preserved to honor the building’s history. You get a great view of the park and the Atlanta skyline there.
While at the venue the couple practiced their first dance. You can see them having a ball in the photo above. After the practice dance the couple went and got ready for their guests and the wedding! The father walked the bride down the aisle. He was bursting a button he was so proud! The bride looked beautiful in her dress and cathedral veil. The details on the dress and veil were made by her very talented aunt.
After the wedding the couple socialized with their guests. I asked the couple if we could sneak away for a few minutes during the blue hour. They were very gracious and said yes. We got one of their friends to drop us off at Oak Hill at Piedmont Park. We went to a few places around the park and this classic space at the south end of the pond where you get the classic Atlanta skyline.
Once again congrats to Nic and Stephanie! We want to thank you for the honor of being your wedding photographers. We also want to thank you for visiting our blog. We hope that you keep coming back. We would love to hear from you. Please drop us a line and let us know what you think.
Thanks again!
David
