This week's wedding was at one of my favorite Atlanta landmarks, I was second shooting with Lahcen Boufedji at The Temple with my favorite wedding team from JDV Occasions and Jim White Designs. When they are involved I know the Bride and Groom are in great hands.
The day started at the Lowes Hotel, where the bride Erica and the groom Max were getting ready. We started with the bride in the suite. She was getting her makeup and hair done with her bridesmaids. We took detailed shots of her rings and wedding dress. I then did some getting ready shots with the groom where the guys were putting on their bowties and getting their Boutonnieres. Once done there we went to the main terrace.
Once the groom and I got to the terrace we for the best location for a first look. Once we got the info that the bride was coming down we put him on the terrace with his back towards the door where his angelic bride would enter. Erica entered the terrace and snuck up behind Max, tapped him on the shoulder. He turned around and saw the lovely vision that was going to be his wife. They giggled, hugged and kissed giddy with excitement for the wedding which was coming up soon! After a few photos there with the rest of the bridal party we moved on to the Temple which was just a few blocks away on Peachtree Street.
When we saw Amy from JDV Occasions I knew we were in good hands. Amy and her team know how to put on a smooth running wedding. Amy directed us to the bridal and grooms rooms. She also had everything lined up for the signing of the ketubah in the Covenant Chapel, which was attended by just a few family and friends. Once that was finished it was show time. The wedding took place in the main sanctuary, where Jim White designs did a beautiful job decorating the chuppah. The wedding party entered from the rear of the sanctuary and the bride was escorted by her father and mother. It was a touching ceremony and at the end there was the breaking of the class and the Mazel Tov cheer!
There were hordevours and cocktail hour before the reception. Once again Jim White designs and Amy’s team from JDV Occasions did a fantastic job turning the reception hall into a magical paradise. After the cocktail hour the guests came in and the bride and groom had their first dance as husband and wife. It was such a memorable moment for everyone. After the first dance then it was time for the hora where the couple were hoisted into the air in celebration and love.
In closing this wedding was one for the books. Great couple, great wedding team, and one of the most beautiful places in Atlanta. I can’t wait for the next wedding there!
