The photographers at Atlanta Artistic Weddings have witnessed many new and unique traditions throughout our experience. As our world changes so rapidly, our lives must adapt as well and weddings are no exception. With the recent pandemic making large gatherings impossible, couples have found a new way to celebrate their big day: the micro wedding.
A micro wedding is a small-scale, simplistic ceremony with no more than 50 guests. These ceremonies still maintain the traditions of a typical wedding, like the cake, dress and other details, with a smaller amount of guests. Some couples see this as a more cost effective and stress-free alternative to a bigger ceremony.
The recent Covid-19 pandemic has made it significantly harder for loved ones to gather, which can be disappointing, especially for special occasions such as a wedding. A micro wedding offers ways around this. A smaller number of guests makes it easier to maintain the six feet apart required for safety and keeps the transmission of the disease under control. Couples have also opted to have their guests join them via Zoom or video chat for the ceremony. This way, couples can still safely celebrate their special day with those closest to them, even if they happen to be far away.
Micro weddings lend a certain amount of freedom to couples so they can show their personal style. While micro weddings can take place in a more conventional setting, couples have also chosen to have their micro weddings in wide open spaces such as parks or in the couple’s own house. Atlanta Artistic Weddings has even photographed a “drive-through” wedding where the couple drove up to the ceremony and were married while staying in their car to maintain social distancing, which was a blast for those involved in this special day.
Micro weddings have recently emerged as a very popular form of wedding ceremony. This type of ceremony proves that having a small wedding doesn’t mean it can’t still be fun, intimate and special. Atlanta Artistic Weddings has worked with micro weddings in the past so if you’re considering going small for your special day, let us know because we would love to work with you.
Thanks again!
