The photographers at Atlanta Artistic Wedding Photography love to learn about new cultures and traditions. One of the benefits of working in a large city like Atlanta is the diversity we have and the fact that we’re able to celebrate these many different cultures. We’ve been lucky enough to do numerous weddings for the Jewish community and many of their denominations.
There are many traditions that take place at these weddings. These include the groom putting a veil on the bride, the bride circling the groom at the altar, and, maybe the most widely known, the couple stomping on a glass to break it at the end of the ceremony. Many people who aren’t of the Jewish faith will not be familiar with these traditions on the surface. However, they are all meant to symbolize the couples commitment to one another and the strength and love of their relationship, which is a message that is universal for everyone.
It’s one thing when you hear about or are told about another culture’s traditions, but to get to actually be there and experience these traditions first-hand is something special and I’m thankful I get to help capture it all. It’s always a pleasure to work with these clients and be a part of this moment in their lives. If you are a part of the Jewish faith, be sure to keep Atlanta Artistic Wedding Photography in mind for your big day!
