This Atlanta wedding photographer has been looking forward to this couple’s wedding. I took Elizabeth and Ben’s engagement photos a few months back. Ben and Liz were so much fun! We took their photos all around downtown Atlanta. They wanted an urban vibe for their photos. They also brought Archie their dog to keep the photos fun. We talked about the wedding in the mountains and how they were having friends from all around the world coming to celebrate with them.
The wedding day came this Sunday. The guys and girls got ready at separate Airbnb's close to the Chattanooga Belle Wedding Venue. After we did a few getting ready photos at the Airbnb's we went to the venue’s distillery.
Chattanooga Belle is a unique wedding venue that consists of a large open-air barn that has a gift shop and large Amphitheater that opens to give you a view of the Vineyards. The vineyards consist of apples and grapes that they use to make alcohol. Then to the south of the vineyards there is a distillery where they make all kinds of spirits from Bourbon to many kinds of liquors.
At the distillery, the wedding party had a few drinks while the guests started to arrive at the wedding venue. The guests went to the vineyard to get their seats. The bride came in the backway and hid in the venue. When the guests were seated the music started and the bridal party entered the ceremony area. Once they were in place the large barn doors opened, and the bride was announced. She walked down the aisle in the arms of her father. In the background of the ceremony were the Georgia mountains with rolling hills in the foreground. Elizabeth’s brother presided over the ceremony. Liz and Ben wrote their own vows. After the vows Archie arrived with the rings. With a little wrestling on the ground, he gave the rings to the best man and Ben. It was fun to watch, and the guests laughed as Archie did not want to give up the rings. Then they were pronounced husband and wife. When they left the ceremony area in the vineyard they were showered with rice. The air was filled with positive vibes.
After the ceremony, the guests went to the top of the hill to the reception area while the wedding party and family stayed behind in the vineyard for photos. The lighting was perfect! We explored the tall grass for a natural backlit photo location. We then walked through the vineyards for a backdrop. It was a perfect setting for a perfect day.
The reception was held at the barn at the top of the hill. Their wedding party was announced, and the couple celebrated their first dance as husband and wife. Then it was time to eat. They had lamb, duck and many rice dishes. I was overwhelmed with all the choices. After dinner there were a few toasts from friends that came from as far away as Europe and South America where the bride was raised. As they toasted the couple, I could feel the excitement build up because everyone knew the dancing was about to come. The DJ announced that it was time for Hora Loca or Crazy Dance which is a Latin America tradition. The music started and the crowd exploded as dancers came out dressed in Carnival outfits. They got the guests on their feet and moving to the music. It was a blast! At the end of the night the couple left through an avenue of sparklers. The air was filled with love.
