This week’s wedding is Marco and Paola. They met each other through Facebook as friends. A few months later they were dating and falling in love. Last year Marco popped the question and Paola said yes. The wheels going to their wedding started moving and we arrived on October 5th.
The day started with perfect weather, a sunny day with not a cloud in the sky. We arrived at the venue and the team were setting up the wedding. Paola’s best friend Paula is a decorator in Brazil where the bride is from. She decorated the pews, the tables in the reception area, and decorated the wedding arch in front of the ceremony area. I would describe her as a consummate friend. She tirelessly moved boxes and organized the dessert table with flowers and goodies. While Paula was decorating Paola was getting ready for her big day.
Paola is surrounded by talented people! Paola’s dress is a one of kind design. It was designed by her mother one month before she passed away. Paola gave her mother’s dress design to a wedding dress maker in her hometown in Brazil who made the dress. Paola also got the dress maker to customize her cathedral veil with the “mama” embroidered at the base of the veil so her mother’s spirit would be walking with her down the aisle.
Before the ceremony she wanted to share a first look with some of the most important people in her life. She wanted her brother and son to see her first in the dress. Her son came in first into her dressing room. He turned around and saw his mom in the dress for the first time. He was so proud of her and happy about the wedding. Her brother came in, turned around and smiled at his beautiful sister. He giggled and started calling her by her nickname from childhood. Once a big brother always a big brother.
As she was finishing with the first looks, Marco the groom was getting ready downstairs. He had his kids and family with him cheering him on. He was looking dapper in his tux. Once finished he let the wedding planner know that he was ready for a wedding.
The guests arrived and sat in the pews in the ceremony area. They had a magnificent view of the manicured lawn and rolling hills around the venue. Marco came in first to a pumping theme song. Then the doors closed behind him and Paola came down the ramp to the ceremony area. The doors opened and everyone turned to see the bride shrouded in light. She slowly walked down the aisle. Marco saw her and instantly cried. The veil with an ode to her mother trailed behind her dress.
When the ceremony was done, we took a few family photos, we walked around the grounds and took photos of the couple. There were so many great places. The sun was coming down at the time, so we had some warm light to work with. The rolling hills with the soft grass were a great backdrop to the photos.
After the photos it was time for the reception. The couple were first introduced as husband and wife. They welcomed the guests and prayed over the food. After eating they cut the cake and did their first dance which started out as a tango then evolved into a sassy Latin number. The guests started to join in, and the party started. Everyone had a great time. At the end of the night the guests lined up outside and sent them off in a sparkler send off. A spectacular send off to a spectacular day. Congratulations to Marco and Paola!
