The staple of the wedding bridal party goes back longer than anyone can remember. Like most time-honored traditions, there are certain typical qualities people come to expect when it comes to bridal parties. However, our Atlanta wedding photographers are here to say that you don’t have to pay attention to those arbitrary rules anymore. You build your wedding party the way you want! Here are just a few ways our couples have ditched tradition with their wedding parties!
Gender Bending

Your wedding party should consist of those closest to you and gender is not a factor in that. If you want to have a Best Woman or Man of Honor or even Flower Men, go for it! If one of your party requests to wear a suit instead of a dress or vice versa there’s no problem! You can just make sure they color coordinate. All that matters is that you have your nearest and dearest friends with you on the day.
Furry Friends

Your pets have likely been your constant companion for a good part of your life. You love them enough to feed and care for them, so why not show that special relationship on your wedding day? They will feel so happy to be included and your guests will get a kick out of watching them ham it up down the aisle. I mean, can it get any cuter than a doggy of honor?
Family First

Weddings are all about blending families, so why not include your family in all aspects? If you’re a bride who’s close to your mom, have her be your Maid of Honor! If you and your spouse have a child together, have them walk you down the aisle! There’s no wrong answer here. This is all about the life you and your spouse want to make and the people you want in it.
