Kellie and Nagy are this week’s couple. They are super a cute couple who come from different sides of the world. The bride, Kellie is from Atlanta, Georgia and the groom Nagy is from Cairo, Egypt. She was raised Catholic and he was raised Muslim. Fate brought them together and when they met they appreciated each others cultures. They saw not the differences in the cultures but the similarities, in their cultures, such as importance of family and the importance of love and respect.
The groom’s day started at the Avalon Hotel in Alpharetta. The groomsmen got ready in the Nagy’s room, where they made sure he looked his best for his bride. Nagy’s father came in at near the end of the getting ready shots to make sure everything was perfect. The father and son shared one last moment before the wedding ceremony at the church. We then went to the roof of the hotel for a few photos with just the guys. Once done we headed to St. Thomas Acquinas Church.
Kellie got ready at her parents house just down the road from the church where they attend. As you can see from the photos, the ladies excited to see the brides dress! She wore a classic gown with detailed spaghetti straps the complemented the dress. It was a tasteful combination of casual and chic.
Before the wedding ceremony the couple wanted to do a first look. But what the groom did not know was Kellie had a last minute twist for Nagy! She got one of the groomsmen to stand in for her in a wedding dress. The groom stood there and screamed in surprise when he saw his friend in a wedding dress. After, when we did the real first look with Kellie he was relieved and in awe of her beauty.
Once the first look was over Kellie and her father had a few moments to themselves. They were both giddy with excitement and anticipation. You could just look at the dad and tell how proud he was of his daughter. He had raised a sweet little girl who turned into a wonderful woman with intelligence and kindness.
It was a beautiful ceremony at St. Thomas Acquinas Church in Roswell. The priest shared a thoughtful sermon on the art of sculpture and it’s similarities to life. There were solemn moments during the ceremony for reflection and at the end there was the elation of two people in love finally getting married!
The wedding reception was at one of my favorite venues, Naylor Hall, where we took alot more photos. While we were doing the photos it started to rain, but we didn’t let that stop us from having a great time. As you can see from the photo above, we took advantage of the rain and came up with some great photos!
During the reception, Kellie’s maid of honor was so helpful and hilarious! She did a funny and thoughtful speech that highlighted the family. Then the father of the bride did an astonishing speech that showed such grace and respect for the different religions. He really showed how to bring to cultures and families together. This photo of the fathers holding hands during the speech says it all.
After the speeches and cake there was lots of dancing! The bride and groom celebrated all night long with their guests and families. At the end of the night it was time to go home and they had a fun exit with streamers and bells. It was a night to be remembered by all!
