The Fox Theatre is one of Atlanta’s premiere venues for live entertainment, and the photographers at Atlanta Artistic Weddings have been honored to shoot at this venue multiple times. This venue has a very rich history in Atlanta, starting when it was bought by William Fox, who opened this “movie palace” on Christmas Day in 1925 with the premiere of Disney’s popular cartoon Steamboat Willie. The Fox quickly became a favorite venue of the Atlanta community and expanded over time to include performances by acclaimed opera and theatre companies, concerts from pop music legends, and community dances at the peak of Swing and Big Band music.

The architecture and decor at the Fox Theatre is gorgeous. When the Fox Theatre first opened, the local newspaper described it as having, "a picturesque and almost disturbing grandeur beyond imagination" and that grandeur has remained a feature of the venue to this day. It has a striking red-carpet entryway and ornate gilt work along the walls, in addition to soaring turreted ceilings and stained glass windows. The main attraction, however, is the famous ceiling in the main theatre that transforms into a vast cobalt “sky” with a sea of twinkling stars that mesmerizes the audience. All of these details were the perfect accent for the glamorous productions the Fox is famous for and will provide an amazing background for an event you will remember your whole life.

The Fox is experienced in hosting private events as well as public shows, including corporate parties, proms, bar mitzvahs, and weddings. They offer a variety of services and a skilled staff to make your event a success. The Fox will also pair you with qualified vendors for services such as audio/visual, entertainment, event designers, event equipment rental, floral, and photography. These services will be sure to cover most, if not all, of the elements you want for your special day.

The Fox Theatre has multiple facilities for couples to choose from. The largest event room is the Egyptian Ballroom. This ballroom can be decorated to fit any event and any style, while still maintaining a majestic, antique feeling with it’s lavish columns and ornamentation throughout the room. The Grand Salon and Terrace is another option for your event. This space evokes a more intimate ballroom feel, while being connected to an outside terrace where guests can enjoy a beautiful view and a breath of fresh air. An event space option for couples with a more modern style would be the Marquee Club. This space overlooks the iconic Fox Marquee and the buzzing nightlife of Peachtree Street, while also providing access to the rooftop terrace. Any of these spaces would lend itself to an amazing time for all.

This iconic venue has its main event spaces, however the three rooms mentioned above are not the only options for those wanting to celebrate at the Fox Theatre. First off, there’s the Spanish Room, which is a festive space perfectly suited to cocktail parties or corporate gatherings, and provides interior access to the Marquee Club. There is also the Landmarks Lounge off the Main Lobby where you can host a smaller, more intimate gathering of your closest friends, complete with comfortable lounges, a private restroom and personal bar service. The Fox will even let you rent out their main spaces, although these have limited scheduling affected by performance dates. You can book the Main Lobby for conventions, private gatherings, and corporate gatherings, or you can book the Auditorium for your event. It is safe to say that, whatever the reason for your gathering, the Fox Theatre has a space to accommodate your needs.
