We all know 2020 is going to go down in the history books as one to remember, especially if you are a wedding photographer in Atlanta. Needless to say, the pandemic caused havoc on businesses and social lives alike. I do not know one person that has not been personally affected by this. However, we should remember that while the year has had its share of tragedies, there were many triumphs, too! Let us be thankful for the many blessings that have been bestowed upon us.
I first want to thank our many couples and their families for their patience and graciousness during such a stressful time. We have had many micro weddings and many more weddings that were rescheduled. We have also seen the efforts of our couples to prioritize the safety of their guests and family during this uncertain time. They have gone the extra mile and have been coming up with unique work arounds to bring people together. Atlanta couples have still managed to create special moments on their wedding day, by using Zoom to video chat with guests from all around the world who can not travel right now. In this tough time it means so much to couples and their loved ones to still be able to share this momentous occasion together We are so blessed with such wonderful clients!
I also want to thank the team at Atlanta Artistic Weddings. I have been blessed with some of the most talented and hard working individuals I have had the honor to work with. They have selflessly shared their creative talents to come together as one of the best Atlanta wedding photographer teams in the business! I am going to thank each one of them and give you a bit of a behind the scenes look at what makes them so awesome!
Let’s start with Sarah. She is one of the best photographers I have ever had the honor to work with. Not only is she a talented photographer, but she has the biblical patience of Job. I have no idea how many weddings we have shot together, but it is more than some wedding photographers have shot in their entire career. She is a true professional who puts the client first and is sensitive to wedding day needs. She brings her own creative style and female perspective to her photos, which is so important for a major event like a wedding. I am so blessed Sarah has stuck with me through so many weddings and been so flexible. We have gone through so much together! Thank you Sarah for all you do and for making me a better photographer.
We are also blessed to have Tara on our team. Tara started out as a student in my photography class at Emory. She was by far one of the most talented photographers in the class. She was a hard worker and had a passion for photography. I have brought her in to some of my hardest weddings and she has been a true pro! We shot one of my first gay weddings together, and we’ve dealt with snow, rain and even wild snakes! This year we shot one of the most meaningful weddings I have had the honor to shoot. We had one bride who was diagnosed with terminal cancer and one of her last wishes was to get married. Tara shot some of the most tender and candid getting ready shots that day and the family got so emotional when they saw them. You could tell those photos meant a lot to them. Weddings like that truly remind me why we do this. Thank you Tara for being there for some of the tough ones and bringing a contagious positive attitude.
I also want to thank Lizzie. She is the reason you get your edited photos so quickly! She is one of the smartest most talented woman I have ever meet. To say she is a hard worker is an understatement. Lizzie is the one who ties all the photographs together to tell the story of your wedding day. She is the one you thank when you get your beautifully designed wedding album. Lizzie brings a much needed fresh perspective to the editing process and wedding day that we can overlook sometimes because we are too close. She also brings a sensitivity to cultures and has even has worked in the roll of interpreter at a wedding! She is also has become more than just somebody we work with but she has become part our family!
Now there is Heather our newest member of the team. I know that I am not the best writer! That is where Heather shares her talents. Heather comes in and polishes my gobbledygook so it is coherent to everyone. She is also the one who comes in with the beautifully written posts and who incorporates her passion for classic literature into all the social posts you see. Heather also brings the much needed female perspective into all of our marketing material. Thank you Heather for making us look so good!
I also want to thank our awesome wedding venues we get to work with, such as Naylor Hall. It is truly an honor to work with such professionals! Naylor Hall is one of the most beautiful venues manned with a staff who really cares about making your wedding day the best it can be. I am truly blessed to work with such wonderful people!
Last, but certainly not least, I want to thank my family. They have given up so many weekends with me while I have been shooting weddings. I have missed them so! Thank you so much for being so supportive of me and for understanding when I am not around. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
