We had a great wedding this weekend! We had the honor of photographing Mark and Kandi’s wedding in Atlanta. They are such a great couple! They had so many great friends who came from all over the United States and the world to celebrate their wedding!
“Love recognizes no barriers. It jumps hurdles, leaps fences, penetrates walls to arrive at its destination full of hope.”
– Maya Angelou
One of things I love is when people express their personal side during their wedding day. Kandi and Mark did not disappoint. Through out the day their were small odes to their 2 pet cats. When Mark was getting ready I saw his cuff links and each one had a picture of their cat on them. During the ceremony their were several referances their pet cats. Kandi even went as far as having small cut outs of them during the ceremony. It was very cute!
As a Atlanta wedding photographer I am honored to get to see many weddings. My favorite part of the wedding now is the toast. This wedding the toast masters were the sisters! Kandi sisters gave a toast and then Mark’s sisters gave a toast. Like all great toasts they were served with lots of laughter, love and sincerity.
The wedding took place at The Westside Warehouse on Huff Road in Atlanta. It is a very unique venue with all kinds of fun stuff. It is event venue and antique store. So they can combine a lot of vintage decorations. The venue was decorated with wrought iron and a lot of vintage tables and couches for the guests. Also for a warehouse it had lots of natural light as a photographer I love!
They had a live band and they kept everyone dancing! The guests had a great time! They mingled and it was a great mix of people from all over. One of the things Kandi said was “ I usually get nervous in front of people but not today when I look out and see so many friends and people we love”. I thought that was such a wonderful sentiment.
As the night wore on I mentioned that the blue hour was coming up and it makes for great photos. So we went outside of the venue for a couple of minutes and captured the photo below. With the blue hour and a moon in the sky the photo looks so romantic. The timing on the blue hour is crucial since it happens so quickly.
