I Am Teaching Introduction to Digital Photography at Emory Continuing Education

by David Diener

I will be teaching Digital Photography I at Emory Continuing Education Starting This Thursday! It is a fun introduction to photography!

Come on out this Thursday. I will be teaching Digital Photography I.  If you feel that you are not taking full advantage of the features offered by your digital camera, this is the course for you. Composition, selective focus, saturated colors and proper exposure all combine to produce images which make the best use of digital photography's tools. Digital technology has changed the field of photography more rapidly and dramatically than any previous technical advance. Ideal for the enthusiastic hobbyist or a serious amateur, we will focus on how the operation of digital cameras differs from their film counterparts through a combination of class lecture and photographic assignments. Learning how the camera capabilities apply to actual photo-taking and the impact of megapixel, file compression, and print versus email output will greatly enhance your success in photography. We’ll also begin exploring the more complex aspects of photography, such as lighting, composition, use of flash, color and depth of field. You will share your work in class to enhance the class discussion. You are encouraged to delay the purchase of supplementary equipment until after class discussions. You can sign up at http://ece.emory.edu/catalogDetail.php?CatalogID=497

Wedding at the High Museum of Art

by David Diener

There is nothing like a wedding at the High Museum of Art.  The staff are great!  The art at the high makes for a perfect back drop for a classy or a fun whimsical wedding. There is art for both.  For this wedding the bride was very elegant but she did have a little of that Rock and Roll there too.  The bridal party was just so fun!  They were up for anything and had a great attitude towards everything. There were not about to let a little rain spoil their day.  As you can see from the photo these ladies were there to have fun and support their girl!  You can see highlights of their wedding at:

I want to first say thank you to the bride and groom for giving such a  me such great honor of documenting their special day. I also want to give a heart felt thank you to the staff of the High Museum of Art in Atlanta for their help and support.  They made a day to remember for the couple and guests.

Thank you to visiting.  Please feel free to call me at 404-578-6982 and I will be happy to help you in any way that I can.

Photographing Wedding Dresses | www.atlantaartisticweddings.com

by David Diener

My we sure have been busy!  I have done numerous weddings this year!  I have photographed many wedding dresses.  Every dress I photograph has a personality.   I try to capture it in the photo.  As you can see this dress has lots of details in the back of the dress.

As with anything I photograph the first thing I look for is light.  I want to capture it in the best light possible.  I got the bride to stand in between the two corner windows and in front of the two mirrors.  That way you can see the light cascading down both sides of the dress.  The dress has a great train also so I got down a little lower than usual to capture it and that way it looks larger and the bride looks more powerful when you look up at your subject.  I also got the bride to give me a little bit of her shoulder so the torso would have more curves.

This was a very simple photograph that did not take me long but is one of my favorites I have done this year.
Thanks so much for visiting!

Atlanta Wedding Photographer in Buford, Georgia

by David Diener

Great wedding at the Buford Civic Center! This is a great venue for your wedding!  The staff are awesome!
The venue has so much to offer.  It has different size banquet rooms for any size wedding.  The interior and can be spacious and still not loose it’s intimacy at the same time.  I recently worked with Amy the wedding coordinator there and she was awesome!  She was very attentive to the couples needs while still being a great hostess to the guests.  She is a great person to have on your wedding team!

As a photographer I just loved all the different opportunities that I had for photography.  They have a fountain out front, a large atrium in the middle, wonderful stair case and large columns in the front.  Just a great great facility.
Thanks so much for visiting!

Ever since I have moved to Atlanta I have ad mired the High Museum.  I have mentioned in other posts that there is a trend to have weddings and or receptions at museums in Atlanta.  I think that is  a great idea!  A wedding is  work of art and should be treated with the love and respect that a wedding is.  Each is unique and beautiful.  They are both are to be cherished for a life time.

Atlanta Wedding Reception at Art Gallery

by David Diener

There is a growing trend to have receptions at galleries. They are perfect for at reception if you think about. They have some art on the wall so people have something to talk about. Usually are used to serving guest food and drinks. There is usually a large area for a dance floor. They are also usually closed in the evenings so they become a multi use facility!

I recently shot at Mason Murer Fine Art. It is a beautiful facility with the perfect amenities for a wedding or any other event. They had some great art work with a wide range of styles. They also have some large areas to accommodate big groups surrounded by smaller areas for intimate conversions. Just perfect for your event.

This particular wedding they had a sparklers for their exit. There was plenty of room by the doors for all the guests. The couple was perfect I could not ask for a more perfect shot. When they were exiting they stopped right in front of me and they gave their best kiss of the night surrounded by the sparklers! I have included the shot below.
