However, there’s nothing that says you can’t plan and organize in a way that is easy and, dare I say, fun for you. Here are some ideas of how you can make wedding planning tolerable and even something to look forward to!

Intertwine Fun Tasks with Tedious Ones

Is there a task you’re particularly dreading? Combine it with a task you’re excited about! For instance if you think addressing invitations or paying your vendors is going to be painful, plan to listen to wedding DJ/band submissions while doing so that you have a distraction or can take a break from the tedious task. You can also plan something fun, like cake tasting or dress shopping, later that same day so you have something to look forward to.

Make A Game Out Of Each Task

Something else to make tasks fun is to make a game out of it! Find a way to involve your family and friends. Do you have to make a seating chart? Assign your helpers each a guest and make it a puzzle/trivia game or play a round of musical chairs. Do you have to choose a DJ/band? Ask each person in your bridal party to bring an option. Then, whoever’s submission gets selected gets a special dance with the couple on the day. There are a number of ways to add a fun twist to your tasks!

Celebrate The Little Victories

One of the most obvious strategies is to set goals and reward yourself when you reach those goals. Did you finish making all your table centerpieces today? Have a date night with your fiance tonight. Did you book your last vendor? Celebrate by going out to a spa with your girl or getting a drink with your guys. Find little ways to motivate and reward yourself and that will go a long way towards making planning more palatable.
