Atlanta wedding Photographers Capture Intimate Ceremony at Emory University Campus
This week’s wedding is Sarah and Cole. Sarah contacted me a few months ago. Sarah told me that she was graduating from Emory and wanted a small ceremony of a few friends and family. As an Atlanta wedding photographer, I love the Emory campus. There are so many photo locations for wedding photography. Like the Glenn Memorial Church Little Chapel. It is behind the larger church when you enter campus. It is perfect for intimate ceremonies like Sarah and Cole.
On the wedding day I arrived early before anyone else so I could scope out good areas for photos and do some drone shots. There are so many wonderful areas around the Emory campus for photos and at that time of year you can see lots of fall colors. I was excited for the day.
Sarah arrived with her family and bridesmaids. They immediately went into the bridal room to get ready. The bridal room is also used as a practice room for music and has a grand piano in there. Sarah graduated with a major in piano, so she felt right at home there. As she was getting dressed, I was taking detailed photos of the dress and rings. As I was taking the photos her fiancé Cole arrived. He went downstairs and waited for his groomsmen to arrive.
After Cole went downstairs, Sarah came out of the bridal room for photos. She wore a classic ball gown dress with a long train. She wore her hair down with a mid-length veil that covered her shoulders. It complemented her perfectly. We started with a few photos in the chapel. Sarah was all smiles and relaxed. She was a bride looking forward to getting married and celebrating the moment with everyone she loved. As we were wrapping up the portraits the family started to trickle in. We took advantage of the situation and did family portraits and bridal party photos. Before we knew it an hour had passed, and it was time to tuck Sarah away before the guests arrived.
When the sanctuary was filled the wedding began. Cole came in with the minister first, then the bridesmaids wearing matching burgundy dresses, and then the groomsmen. Once everyone was up front Sarah the bride came in with her mom and dad behind her to show their support. Cole was overwhelmed when he saw her walking up the aisle. Once up at the altar the guests sat down, and the ceremony began. It was a quick ceremony with I dos and a ring exchange. Finally, they were pronounced husband and wife! They marched down the aisle as a married couple giddy with excitement.
After the ceremony, the family came back for photos. Cole and Sarah were highly organized so all we had to do was to go by the list. After the photos were done we went outside for the couple’s portraits then back inside for food, first dance then dancing. We then gathered the guests outside for the exit. Cole and Sarah ran outside through a sea of bubbles. Everyone cheered them on!
After the exit Cole and Sarah came back and we took even more photos around the Emory University campus. This way we were not in a hurry and could take out time. Since it was late on a Saturday it was like the campus was deserted. We could take sunset photos in the middle of the street! There were some fall colors, and we took advantage of that. Cole reminded us of the unique architecture of the Micheal Carlos Museum, so we went there and the main quad and took some sunset photos there too. Sarah and Cole were such a joy! It was so much fun walking around the beautiful Emory Campus.
