Your photographer is responsible for capturing the milestone moments that you’ll remember forever. In order to do that, they will need good communication and information on your end. You’re both on the same team and want the same thing, so here are some things you can do to help your photographer capture the perfect photographs!

1) Tell your photographer all the specifics

This may seem obvious, but you and your photographer will need to discuss specifics, such as the date, time, and location of your wedding. This would also be a good time to tell your photographer of any special requests or needs for the day. That way they can know how long it will take them to get to the venue, they can scope out good photo spots at the venue ahead of time, and they can plan exactly what they’ll need to prepare for the big day.

2) Give them a photo list and timeline

Another thing that can really help is if you plan ahead. It’s a good idea to provide a timeline of the day and talk through the amount of time available for taking photos. You can also give them a list of specific photos you want them to prioritize. This will help ensure you get the photos that mean the most for you without being pressed for time. 3) Give your photographer an idea of who you are personality wise

Like people, many photographers have their own style and they need to make sure their style compliments yours. Of course you want to make sure their artistic style matches yours. Are you classic or modern? Do you lean towards elegant or artsy? You also want to make sure your photographers personality matches yours. It is good to meet your photographer beforehand, and maybe have a practice session or go out to dinner to talk about you as a couple and tell them your concerns and hopes for the big day.
