Making Memories: How To Preserve Your Favorite Souvenirs From Your Wedding
As Atlanta wedding photographers, we know how important preserving your special day is. Photographs are the most obvious way of catching a moment so that you have it forever. However, photos aren’t the only souvenir you can save from your big day. Here are just a few ways you can preserve your favorite details from your wedding day!
Flowers

You’ve spent a lot of time, energy, and, let’s face it, money, to make sure your flowers are absolutely perfect. Don’t let them go to waste! You can have them pressed with wax paper and framed to make wall art or you can have them encased in resin to make a paperweight. That way, you’ll have a piece of your wedding decor there in your new home.
Sheet Music

If you have a live band or musicians at your wedding, ask them if you can keep the sheet music to the song you walked down the aisle or had your first dance to. You chose that song for a reason and this way you can frame it and hang it in your home. You can also store it so that you can play/hire a professional to play your song during a special anniversary or celebration to create a sweet moment.
Champagne Bottle

Most people have a favorite drink and even create signature cocktails and such for their big day. Before the festivities end, ask your bartender or caterer if you can keep the champagne bottle. You can have the bottle engraved with your last name or the date of your wedding and turn it into a piece of art like a lamp or a sculpture. It will also help you remember the ingredients of your signature drink so you can recreate it for special occasions.
Ceremonial Items

Many wedding ceremonies use items as part of their ritual, from the sacred glass that’s broken during a traditional Jewish wedding to the unity candle or sandbox during a unity ceremony. You can save these items and repurpose them, like saving the glass and framing it to make stained glass art or display your unity candle/sandbox on your mantle. Whatever you save, it will be meaningful to have a piece of your ceremony in your home.
Written Vows

This may be the most important item on your wedding day. Your vows are your hopes and goals for your future as a married couple and you won’t want to forget them. You can keep the paper with your vows, decorate it, and frame it. You can also store your vows and pull them out to look at them during an argument or any tough time. Having your vows close can help you remember the way you feel about each other.
