5 Super Important Details Couples Forget On Their Wedding Day
There is so much planning that goes into a wedding it’s unbelievable. That also means that it’s impossible to catch every detail, no matter how many planners and binders you have. Never fear, though, because this week I got advice from our Atlanta wedding photographers on important wedding details that couples commonly forget about, so that you can start to think and plan your day efficiently!
Essential Items

When it comes to little things like your ID or your phone and charger, it’s so easy to forget them or think “I won’t use them on the big day.” You will definitely want to get a small clutch or handbag to keep the essentials close. This includes phone, wallet with ID and cash, any daily medication you need to take, and, of course, a pack of tissues. Possibly even snacks and a small water bottle, because you need to stay hydrated. Having these items at the ready will make you feel more in control and less frazzled during the day.
Extras Of Everything

Even the most prepared bride and groom run into unexpected happenings on their wedding day. Things get lost or broken in the scuffle of the day. That’s why it’s so important to have an emergency kit with extras of everything. Extra hair pins, socks, needle and thread, band aids, safety pins, anything that can help when you need them in a pinch. These may seem like incredibly small things, but you can never predict what can happen and they could make a huge difference when the time comes.
Transportation

Most couples think about the day from the starting point, and they think specific moments beyond that. The getting ready, the ceremony, the reception, etc. Not many think about how they’ll be getting to that starting point or from Point A to Point B. Of course this is an easy fix. For one thing you can call a company and rent a driver/car for the day. In fact, your venue may be able to provide one for you if you ask. You can also have a relative or close friend in the bridal party help with transport.
Delegating Tasks

Some people might think that they have to do everything themselves. Whether they want to make sure things get done right or they just don’t want to be a bother, they refuse to ask for help. What they don’t realize is that it’s good to ask for help. Weddings take a lot of planning that can be impossible for one person to do alone. You can hire wedding planner to take care of the details. You can also ask family and friends to help out. You may be afraid to bother them but odds are they’ll feel honored you wanted to include them. Delegate, delegate, delegate!
Timing

One of the most important things to remember is to give yourself enough time. So many couples don’t think to leave enough time in between things for the basic necessities like bathroom breaks or even eating. It’s just go go go all day long, trying to get as many pictures as possible, setting things up, etc. Even during the reception, couples are greeting guests and dancing and don’t think to eat. Not to mention your brain and body will need a break from the perpetual motion. You want to savor and remember your wedding day, not hurtle through it. Take a beat and relax. Enjoy your day!
