The Complementary Color Wheel of Talent at Atlanta Artistic Weddings
I am so lucky to be a part of such a talented team. As some of you know I started out in the art field, thus the name Atlanta Artistic Weddings. When you start out in art one of the first things they teach you is the color wheel. If you don’t know what a color wheel is, it is a circle with slices of color, starting with the primary colors on the opposite sides of the circle. Then you have a mix of the colors in between the primary. The first mix is the secondary colors such as when you mix red and yellow and get orange. The colors on the opposite sides of the wheel are called complementary colors because they go well together and complement each other, like blue and yellow. I think of our team as the color wheel. Our talents compliment each other.
The members of the team that I first want to introduce you to are Sarah and Tara. These are the people you will see on your wedding day. They are the female photographers on the team. I think their talents complement the way I shoot. I shoot from a male’s perspective and they shoot from a female’s perspective. I am usually the one who organizes the family photos and get large groups together for the group shots while they shoot the bride’s getting ready photos. They are very sensitive to the bride’s point of view and how she sees her day. While I think of the big picture and coordinating schedules and teams. I think we complement each other and shoot very differently and I appreciate someone who does not shoot the way I do. These other photographers bring their own aesthetic and more coverage for your wedding.
One of the most important people I want to tell you about is Lizzie, our editor. She is one of the most talented graphic designers I know. She is not from the United States and is fascinated by the mix of cultures we have here. When we shoot a wedding we are trying to get the important emotional shots of the wedding but sometimes we are too close to our own photography to be objective when choosing the best photos. That is where Lizzie shines! She thoroughly goes through the photos, finding and editing the best photos in an objective manner. This is so important in so many ways! When she edits that means you get your photos faster because that is her only task on the team. After editing hundreds of weddings she has a keen eye for the important shots and knows how to edit the photos to bring them to the next level.
Last but not least is Heather, our social media director and editor. She is the one who showcases our photography and edits our online presence. When you see an interesting blog or a fun instagram post all that credit goes to Heather! She is the one who has made me a better writer and brings her editing skills to our blog to raise it to the next level. She is constantly making us better photographers and letting the world know how much we enjoy wedding photography! I can not thank you enough Heather. You are the best!!!!
I am so honored to work with such a colorful and talented team. Who’s talent’s complement each other and give our clients the best photos we can.
