Coronavirus and Your Wedding | Atlanta Wedding Photographers
As a Atlanta wedding photographer who writes a blog on everything related to weddings this is one subject that I would never thought I would be writing. The Coronavirus has already starting to effect the wedding industry. The Center of Disease Control (CDC) has came out with the recommendation that people should be avoid large groups of 50 or more people.
The CDC recommendation is affecting the wedding industry tremendously. I would suggest the everyone should be going to the CDC website for information. The Coronavirus is a problem that the CDC is monitoring and adjusting their recommendations accordingly. So you you should not only the 5 things to prevent the spread of the virus such as washing your hands, cough into your elbow, don’t touch your face, stay more that 3 feet apart, and if you feel sick stay home. The big recommendation that just came out yesterday is that people should avoid crowds of 50 or more which would include weddings.
As a wedding photographer my heart goes out to all the couples that have weddings in the next couple of months. They have to make some very difficult decisions soon. I have had two weddings rescheduled in the last week. We are trying to help our brides and grooms and letting them reschedule on dates that we are free. So I have one bride who has a lot of out of town guests and she is rescheduling her wedding next year. I have another bride who is looking at rescheduling her wedding on a Sunday toward the end of the year since Sundays are usually booked less often than Saturdays and sometimes they are cheaper!
I know these are scary times for some people. I am going to to quote my mom “Count your blessings”. The most important thing the couples need to remember is that you have found a person that has said they will love you for life and be your partner in life. The people that are invited to your wedding will understand that this is something that is no ones fault and the world has to deal with. I know it is very difficult for couples to think about canceling your wedding and we are trying to work with all our bride and grooms. The most important thing to remember is that a wedding is the celebration of two people in love and that is not going to stop if you have to reschedule your wedding.
Thank you so much for visiting this Atlanta wedding photographer’s blog. I hope it was helpful. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me and I will be happy to help in any way that I can.
Thanks again,
David
