This Sunday, Feb. 24, Atlanta Artistic Weddings will be participating in Naylor Hall’s Open House—an exclusive event for future Naylor Hall brides and grooms to find and secure their ideal wedding day vendors. AAW will have the pleasure of mingling with potential clients and discussing all things documentary wedding photography. Event guests can expect a stress-free atmosphere, which will include photographs of previous weddings captured at Naylor Hall and detailed information about all wedding photography packages. As a premiere wedding photography business, AAW aims to offer the best packages for clients in the Atlanta area, including Roswell. The different packages are specifically designed for customization in order to fit different wedding day needs.

What will make Naylor Hall’s Open House exceptional will be the relaxed and enjoyable ambiance despite being wedding related. Even after selecting the dream venue, the wedding planning process can be quite nerve-racking and exhausting with other decisions to be made such as cake flavors, floral designs, entertainment options and catering services to name a few. However, events such as this take all those unnecessary burdens and toss them aside. Couples can, in fact, love and appreciate the planning process without resentment. And what better place to wedding plan than a gorgeous antebellum mansion located in the historic district of Roswell, Ga.

In the 1840s, Barrington King had constructed Naylor Hall as a home for H.W. Proudfoot and his family, which had originally featured a four-room, clapboard cottage with a central fireplace. King—the son of Roswell’s founder—had employed Proudfoot “as a bookkeeper in his newly constructed Roswell Mills, which would later become famous in its own right for its production of Roswell Grey cloth used in Confederate uniforms.” According to some history reports, with General Sherman’s march looming, large supplies of Confederate soldier uniforms were removed from Roswell Mills and stockpiled in a secret location at Naylor Hall. Unfortunately, the home was destroyed by Federal troops during the summer of 1864. However, once the Federal occupation ended, Proudfoot rebuilt and resided in the home until his death in 1871. 

It wasn’t until the late 1930s when Naylor Hall had received it’s official name. Colonel Harrison Broadwell had purchased the property, branding the beautiful home in honor of his wife’s family. Over time, he had made significant updates and improvements to the property such as the columns, handcrafted woodwork, and the portico surrounding the original structure. 

Today, owner Sunny Bailey and wedding director Abbey Fitzgerald continue to create history at Naylor Hall by providing unlimited southern hospitality, creativity and of course, support, for some of the South’s most romantic wedding affairs. AAW is blessed to have such a special partnership with this Roswell venue and its passionate and talented staff.
