Historic Wedding Venues and the use of Natural Light

As a Atlanta wedding photographer I have had the honor of shooting at some the most beautiful historic wedding venues and churches in the Atlanta metro area.  I love the way Atlanta celebrates historic venues through out the city.  There are so many historic wedding venues in Atlanta, Roswell, Duluth, Norcross, and Marietta. Inside the perimeter there are wonderful churches and venues right downtown such as The fox Theater, the Swan House, the Georgian, The Builtmore Hotel, Christ the King Church,  Central Presbyterian Church, First United Methodist Church and Peachtree Christian Church.  All of these venues are located near Rhondes Hall also know as the "Castle on Peachtree" home of the Georgia Trust for Historic Preservation.   If you have been following my blog the two things I love more than anything are historic preservation and natural light.

When you photograph at these locations you appreciate the lighting that they can provide.  When I come to these historic venues I will look around and admire the wonderful natural light they have inside the venues.  Generally these venues have large open spaces and have very ornate windows and grand doorways.  I just love these entrances on the historic buildings they are built to make a grand statement when you come in to the historic building.  I usually they never disappoint.  I have shot at the Builtmore Hotel in Atlanta.  They have two wonderful ballrooms that provide beautiful natural light for your wedding photography.

Also when you are shooting at these historic churches in Atlanta you usually have to use natural light.  They don't want to use a flash during a wedding ceremony.  You have to be unobtrusive when you are shooting a wedding and treat the ceremony and venue with the utmost respect.  You have to remember that not only are you shooting a wedding but you are present during a religious ceremony.  You don't want to be a distraction at a place of worship or during payer.  You can see my map of historic Churches and venue here.

Thank you so much for dropping by.  I hope you enjoy the post and come back often!  I would love to hear from you.  Please feel free to leave a comment or contact me through my contact page on the website.

Thanks again!
